Why Pi

The Collaborative Factor

Much like collaboration, pi is a concept with utility yet it cannot be exactly defined. Consider the number to the right of the decimal. It has been calculated to 10 trillion digits. Heres a start: 3 . 1 4 1 5 9 2 6 5 3 5 8 9 7 9 3 2 3 8 4 6 2 6 4 3 3 8 3 2 7 9 5 0 2 8 8 4 1 9 7 1 6 9 3 9 9 3 7 5 1 0 5 8 2 0 9 7 4 9 4 4 5 9 2 3 0 7 8 1 6 4 0 6 2 8

Pi has many interesting characteristics. The letter is Greek, thus it is universal. Even Chinese and Kanji characters use the same shape to represent it. Analogous to a universal constant.

What is Collaboration?

Positive Self-Interested Exchange

Collaboration has many facets and feelings. It is defined by the motivations of the people entering into it. There are myriad individual motivations: financial, emotional, spiritual. Complex dynamics and interplay of many variables yields a constantly changing fabric of interactions. The objective of collaboration is win-win. As you participate in a collaborative exchange, it is important to constantly evaluate the basis of your participation. When you have respect for the contributions of others, this is returned as you make effort to advance within the project. All participation should remain voluntary.
